As a hard external case encloses a chrysalis in nature, my metal skeletons support fragile paper. With the hard skeleton, the paper is supported and protected while still exposed. Like most printmakers, I have a profound love of paper and would rather see it exposed rather than behind glass.
I think of phrase, ‘limitations help me expand.’ Perhaps with the parameters I have set for myself, I can explore more freely. The forms are ever evolving and I continue to fabricating new shapes, seeing new relationships, and finding new meaning.
